Airbus brings Airline Lab to Boliviana de Aviación

In June 2024, Airbus organized along with Boliviana de Aviacion, a two-day seminar dedicated to commercial aviation with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean, and especially on Bolivia.

This “Airbus Airline Lab”, gathered no less than 80 persons and covered a large variety of topics.

Among the notable themes covered during the first day were an introduction to Airbus and its 55 year history, as well as the growth perspectives for the region, showing an overall demand for new aircraft demand close to 2,400 aircraft.

The exchanges also covered the worldwide cabin and connectivity trends on both the single-aisle and widebody markets and how passenger behavior is foreseen to evolve in the years to come.

The event was also a great opportunity for the audience to get an update on the latest Airbus products and services, and their continuous developments, and to understand how this portfolio of innovative solutions will help the Latin American carriers to further develop in a more efficient and more sustainable way.

During the second day of the event, the participants were split into six virtual airlines in order to take part in “Flight plan”, the airline management simulation exclusive to Airbus. Each team had first to define their business model and strategy. Then, during each round of the simulation, the contestants had to analyze their results, make critical decisions and adjust their fleet, network, pricing and offering to become the most profitable airline of the day.

The rounds were intercut with additional presentations dedicated to network design and airline business models to guide the participants in their virtual yet competitive environment, and help them learn through a unique and fun teamwork activity.
