LATAM Airlines Group unveils new cabin interiors
LAN and TAM Airlines, members of LATAM Airlines Group, recently achieved another milestone in their merger process with the announcement of a new cabin interior design for its future long-range aircraft and the new deliveries of Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
Two A320 Family aircraft already feature the new design: a LAN Airbus A320, servicing domestic routes within Chile and a TAM Airbus A321, servicing domestic routes within Brazil. From now on, all new A320 and A321 delivered to LATAM Airlines Group will feature the new cabin interior and seats, giving passengers more space and comfort.
LATAM Airlines Group is taking full advantage of Airbus’ unique cabin features and design, such as SpaceFlex (optimization of the rear galley) to offer more space between each seat row in addition to the larger seat and aisle widths existing by design on all A320 Family aircraft.
From 2015, the two sister carriers will also feature new cabins for the new long-haul fleet and in particular for the A350XWB. The Business class cabin will feature lie-flat seats in Business class, thus following long haul comfort trends.
The A350XWB is the perfect platform to implement a new cabin as its wider fuselage cross-section will allow wider seats (both in Business and Economy classes) and therefore a greater level of comfort for passengers. The silence combined with the elegant lines of the A350XWB cabin architecture will complete the perception of comfort.
The fabric for the seats in the A320 Family cabin was designed to incorporate four colors and two different leather textures. For the new A350XWB cabin, the fabric incorporates more cloth elements to create maximum comfort for longer flights. Numerous Airbus features like LED mood lighting, large bins and panoramic windows underscore the modern and exclusive materials that LATAM Airlines Group has selected for its cabin interior modernization.
According to the airline group, the new unified cabin design is one of the most tangible examples of standardization between the two airlines since the merger.
