Airbus launches Airspace by Airbus
The Aircraft Interiors Expo returned to Hamburg at the beginning of April for the largest exhibition of the latest trends in aircraft interiors. More than 1,000 airline customers, 530 cabin interior suppliers and about 14,000 attendees gathered under one roof to meet and discover manufacturers and major industry suppliers, while presenting an excellent opportunity to get to know others in the industry.
This year was especially key for Airbus at the Expo as a new cabin brand, “Airspace by Airbus” was launched. At the heart of this new philosophy Airbus connects passenger well-being with the optimization of operational performance for its airline customers. Representing the best in Airbus cabin innovation and design, Airspace offers a sophisticated and flexible canvas for airlines to project and enhance their own brands. Airbus also launched the new cabin for the forthcoming A330neo airliner, which embodies “Airspace by Airbus” and is inspired by the cabin of its widebody sibling, the new A350 XWB.
"Airspace by Airbus" encompasses four key pillars: Comfort, Ambience, Service and Design. Airspace cabins will be more relaxing, inspiring, beautiful and functional. Integrating the very latest in LED technology ambient lighting, straight lines and shapes for a greater impression of space, clear surfaces, hygienic and contemporary lavatories and a unique, customizable welcome area, Airspace provides a unique, class-leading passenger experience.
Participants at Aircraft Interiors did not miss the opportunity to experience the virtual reality simulation of “Airspace by Airbus.” Six Latin American airline customers were able to discover “Airspace by Airbus” at the event. Marcela Yerkovic, Product Manager of Long Range Cabins at LATAM said, “I can’t wait to see Airspace in our newest A350-1000 cabins.”
