Aerolineas Argentinas receives first new A330-200

Versatile, flexible, economic A330s to fuel airline’s fleet renewal

Argentina’s flag carrier, Aerolineas Argentinas, has taken delivery of their first of four new Airbus A330-200 aircraft as a part of the carrier’s fleet renewal strategy. The aircraft, equipped with GE engines, joins the airline’s existing fleet of 11 wide-body aircraft, including four A330s and seven A340s.

The A330 will be deployed on long-haul routes such as Miami and New York from Buenos Aires, followed by Madrid in July. The A330 represents a step in economic efficiency as it can be deployed with an equal level of productivity on regional routes or long-haul sectors. A versatility that has made the A330 a success worldwide with more than 1,470 aircraft sold. It is also one of the most reliable wide-body aircraft families with a world average of 99.4 percent operational reliability, essential to ensure smooth and trouble-free operations. This is reinforced by a full commonality with the existing Aerolineas Argentinas A340 fleet, maximizing re-use of existing investments and allowing the use of a single pool of pilots for flying both types.

The A330-200 also offers passengers true long haul Airbus comfort with 18” inch wide seats in Economy Class. Travellers will soon notice these and many more A330-200 essential features.
