A new one-stop-shop for cabin customisation
Airbus has just inaugurated its all-new Cabin Definition Centre (CDC) dedicated to A350 XWB cabin customisation. This unique facility, based in Hamburg, brings customers together with suppliers and Airbus cabin experts to allow an efficient cabin customisation process from layout conception to contractual definition.
Dedicated areas, all under the same roof, will allow customers to complete all cabin definition phases without the need to travel.
The “Play Area” provides hands-on experience for the selection of fourth generation In Flight Entertainment (IFE), connectivity options and fully functional galley elements presented by their respective suppliers.
The “Inspire Area” features multiple entire cabin mock-up sections allowing customers to feel and test the high levels of comfort afforded by the comprehensive array of A350 XWB catalogue items prior to making a definitive selection.
The new “Trim and Finish studio” with its dedicated “Lighting Arena” is the ideal setting to select materials, textures and colours to support their own branding. The 16.7 million colour, full LED, cabin mood-lighting system bring even further customisation possibilities and dynamic scenarios help reduce the effects of jet-lag.
The “Meet & Configure Areas” are equipped with an all-new tool for complete and accurate layout generation and an e-configurator with a 2D and 3D life-size PowerWall display. Clearances can be verified and concerns clarified using the physical mock-up capability also offered here.
A strictly private lounge complete with full catering facilities is also available for each customer throughout the cabin definition exercise that can now take place in the same location.
The CDC is yet another example that demonstrates that the A350 XWB combines both comfort and efficiency for all.
