Avianca Brasil becomes first Airbus Smarter Fleet Maintenance Mobility customer in Latin America
Through “Services by Airbus”, Airbus offers end-to-end maintenance solutions for airlines worldwide by enhancing aircraft competitiveness and continuously adapting to customers’ evolving needs.
Taking advantage of the latest digital, cloud-based maintenance services available, Avianca Brasil has become the first Latin America customer to select Airbus Smarter Fleet Maintenance Mobility as part of a five-year servicing agreement. This unique Airbus digital solution will provide the airlines’ technical ground staff with a complete view of the aircraft status and maintenance activities and will bring efficiency to mechanics through technical data available on their mobile devices. The Maintenance Mobility suite will also include an e-Doc browser for access to Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC) and Minimum Equipment List (MEL) from a mobile device. This is another example of Airbus innovation helping to reduce airline costs and increase efficiency.
Maintenance Mobility will streamline communication and decision-making for Avianca Brasil, while enabling time-savings during aircraft turnarounds with the digital solution being integrated into the airline’s information system. Avianca Brasil will receive real-time monitoring on the progression of each aircraft turnaround activity and serviceable status.
The deployment to Avianca Brasil will be accomplished step-by-step with Airbus experts working on-site with the airline in order to help manage the integration efficiently.
As one of the Smart Fleet services developed by Airbus in partnership with IBM, Maintenance Mobility is a web-based application for supervisors and mechanics, synchronized by the Smarter Fleet cloud platform.
